A picture is worth . . .

. . . nothing unless you have something to show it in.

As some of you might be aware My Birthday is just around the corner. I didn’t actually realize this until Mom had mentioned it. “Oh, crap. It is to!”, I said.

Mom’s birthday is on the 10th, so Bruce, Paul, and Dave – that was your reminder. And she made it very clear she didn’t want any lotto tickets by the way. :-w

But since my Birthday is coming up on the 19th, that also means that Mom and Dad’s Anniversary is coming up too, since it’s on the same day as my Birthday. Oh yea, the irony, I know, I know. I’ve heard it all before.

There’s one thing that I know my folks could use because if you have ever been in their home you’ll know there’s a load of pictures all over the place. Every single room in the house has some sort of family picture. It’s actually getting to the point that they are going to run out of places to put them.

Soooo, that’s why I think a great gift for them would be a digital photo frame. I can scan all their photo’s for them and archive them on a DVD for safe keeping, so Dad can put into his safe. That way they can be duplicated in case something should happen to the original.

17? Digital Picture FrameI bet that this 17″ digital picture frame would go great on their entertainment unit. The thing is there would be the problem of convincing Dad to have the thing turned on all the time because for some reason he thinks that anything that draws electricity will cost hundreds of dollars a day, so telling him it’s power consumption is just 9W might be enough to set him at ease, and I can prove it on the web site if he puts up a fight. :D

Well I guess I place my order now. I think I’ll get the card reader elsewhere though, I think I can get a 1GB stick for $15 at the used electronics store next door.

Weeee, I like shopping. Spending money is so much fun. Yeesh, I sound like some teenage girl at a mall. 8-}

    =; Bought one of these a while ago and in my opinion, it was crap. Photo resolution was poor; photos have to be in landscape as any other format crops the pictures. The automatic slide screen timer was way too slow and wasn’t adjustable. Good idea to get a used 1G stick to load up lots of photos. Finding a place to put it and plug it in was a hassle too. When a friend was over, it scared the heck out of her because she wasn’t expecting a photo frame to change like that. I gave it to my sister who probably hasn’t used it either.
    BTW — that is MY Whistler home even if just in my dreams LOL :dance2:

    Thanks for the heads up there Larry. But what about the pricier ones. You think they would be better then?

    I have to be honest, I said I had my eye on the 17″ but I meant to say the price of the 17″. :p

    Carlye got a couple of those for her parents and grandparents. She seemed pretty happy with hers, but, of course, I don’t have any idea what models she bought.

    That was almost a waste of a comment, huh? :-Wi

    DL, no comment here is a waste, except if it is spam of course.

    But it does tell me that the higher priced ones might be better than the one that Larry said wasn’t any good though.

    So no, it wasn’t a waste. :dance:
