Alexa Finally Got One

Alexa LogoI’ve been watching my Alexa rank go up and down the past few weeks and after reading Corey’s comment about the possibility that since I have a ‘Get FireFox’ bar at the top bottom of the site and on individual post’s pages, only when Internet Exploder users visit the site, and that I may be converting users to use Firefox. When these users are using FireFox they no longer have the Alexa Tool Bar that is Key to keeping my Alexa Page Rank at an ultimate low. So it’s going up instead.

So I mentioned this in a forum and how it’s not fair that you’re site will only get ranked if your visitors are only Internet Exploder users.

Corey just happens to be right. I’m not sure when they got it, but Alexa now has an Alexa Tool for Firefox called Sparky that will help rank your sites, just as long as the users have it installed on their browsers. So this way both IE and FF users will help make your Alexa Ranking better.

All along I thought this was weird that I have a good PR but a crappy Alexa Rank. Well now I know.

So if you’re a very smart user and you’re already using FireFox for your browser then click on the ‘Download Now’ Button right here, or if you’re still stuck with Internet Exploder, there’s a Google/Firefox button at the end of this post (or at the bottom of the page) once you have it come back here and get the tool bar.

Install Now!
Or you can follow this link instead to Alexa Tool Bar Download Page

The site automatically detects your browser so if your in FireFox it will automatically bring you to the Alexa Sparky Page for installation. Shown here;

Or if you’re an Internet Exploder user, it will automatically redirect you to the Crappier Tool bar page as showen here;

Alexa’s Internet Exploder more crappier Tool Bar

So get those tool bars installed folks, you’ll be helping out your fellow bloggers by visiting their pages while having the tool bar installed on your browser. The same goes for your sites as well, because what goes around, comes around.

So here’s that link one more time to Alexa Tool Bar Download Page.

    That’s great.

    I finally stopped paying attention to Alexa. It can be gamed too easily. I quit getting excited about my rankings. It was pretty hard to get happy about it when I constantly saw crap sites with lower rankings than my websites.

    I do have other indications that my website is getting noticed. Advertisers are approaching me. I accepted one. I wrote a simple contract told them how much I wanted and requested the money in advance.

    They accepted my terms and I received the money the same day. I made almost $200 within a few minutes.

    I made a little over $600 last week from Vegan Momma, $475 came from ads and affiliate sales only $150 was from sponsored reviews. I wrote three total.

    Thomas – Technical blogger wrote an excellent post about Alexa & rankings. I featured it in one of my weekly roundups.

    I don’t like the fact that the Alexa toolbar tracks my info as I visit websites. It states that in the TOS. I’m on a Mac so I don’t use IE.

    Opal, I want my Alexa at least below 99,000. You probably know why too.

    To be honest, I wish they would drop the whole Alexa thing altogether. :think:
