With the higher speeds we are getting with Broadband and DSL internet services it seems that Voice over IP telephone service is quickly becoming a popular means of communicating amongst ourselves.
The latest in VoIP services is the Video Phone that lets you not only talk with another person, but allows you to see them in real time also.
I can remember way back when they had some futuristic TV or Movies show two people talking to each other on some video phone and they made it seem like it was some futuristic tool that would only be available in the distant future. Boy were they wrong huh?
One of the most important features about the VoIP service in my opinion, is that it costs so very little compared to regular analog telephone service.
Packet8 has residential VoIP service with unlimited calls in the US and Canada for just $25 a month. You can’t get that price with your regular phone company.
This is the Tango VTA464 and all you do is plug it into your computer and that’s it. Pretty cool huh? Slick design sorta looks like an iPod or a cell phone doesn’t it?

I wouldn’t mind having this little puppy on my desk right here in front of me. I would just need to remember to wear some pants in case somebody called and saw me in my shorts.
Come to think of it, I can imagine having the caller hear several rings before I answer because I’m trying to put on a pair of pants, trying to find my hat, or just combing my hair. LOL That would be a funny video wouldn’t it?
Did you know that on April 12th The Montel Williams Show did a show on the separation anxiety felt by children and spouses whose loved ones were deployed to Iraq? Packet8 gave all the families on the show two Packet8 Tangos each plus one year of service, so they could both talk to and see their loved ones who are so far away. Isn’t that an awesome gesture? It’s nice to see things like that happen.
