I Wen’t On A Shopping Spree!

Thursday Jun 12, 2008

This shopping spree was just supposed to be for a couple of things and then when I got to Hell-Mart I think my balls went up inside me and I turned into a crazy chick on a shopping craze!

What was supposed to be a trip for a pair of Denim Jeans and a couple of T-Shirts, turned out to be a $135 shopping spree.

I saw two pairs of Cargo Shorts that I wanted, then some Jeans, and finally a few T-Shirts.

So in the end I ended up with Black Denim Jeans, Dark and Light Blue Denim Jeans, Two pair of cargo shorts, the kind that go just past your knees (The only ones I like),  and three T-Shirts (Pink Floyd, Miami Ink, and The Rolling Stones).

Doesn’t seem like a whole lot for $135 does it?

But that’s not all. I forked over an additional $40 to Mom for driving me there and back. (I really need to get another car)

UPDATE: I suppose I should mention the reason for the new clothes. You see I’ve been working a job that required me to wear a uniform, and the hours were terrible making it so that I was either at work or at home sleeping. Wearing casual clothing wasn’t something that I did a whole lot. But with this awesome new job, no uniform is needed. It’s casual and comfortable.

That’s how I spent my afternoon after work. How about you?

Got The Time?

Saturday Mar 22, 2008

WatchWhile I’m at work I take my watch off and put it in my pocket so it doesn’t get full of crap like grease and other food like crap. The thing I did that was stupid last week was I left it in my pocket when I did the laundry. It got washed, so I imagine that it got all nice and clean and although it was a water proof watch I don’t think it was designed for the next step in laundry washing, the dryer. Yup, it went into the dryer and that was the last of it. It got so hot, it blew it’s back off.

So now here I am looking for a replacement, and when it comes to buying a watch, I’m very picky, and those $5 jobbies are something you’ll never catch me wearing.

I also noticed that my Dads B-day is approaching too and he is the type of guy that is picky with watches too. He is actually more picky than I am and is really into Time accuracy. He is always making sure it is set to the exact second when the CBC Radio time synchronization test comes on all the time everyday.

So I’ve been spending some time online doing some window shopping and have been looking through these Seiko Watches that are all very nice. Although some of them are kinda out of my price range, there are still a few that are, and look really nice too. The Seiko SNA107 is something that I think Dad would like. I still haven found one that catches my eye yet, but I’ll keep looking.

I spent a lot of time just in the Seiko Watches category of this site. I’ve never seen such a long list of styles for just one brand of watches. I’ll be fighting with myself trying to make a decision on just one for myself, and yet there are five different brands to go snooping through. Sigh…
Someone once asked me why I would be willing to spend that kind of money on just a watch, and I tell them that you can’t get a 3 year warranty on a $5 K-Mart watch and when you are the type of person that washes theirs in the dryer is always nice to have it under warranty. Plus they’re a lot nicer and accurate.

I’ve always found that you get what you pay for. Cheap things seem to last for a very short time and when you think about the long term, it just makes sense money wise to buy it once rather than several times a year. But that’s just my opinion, and you’re entitled to it.

Wow how time flies! I better get some work done.

It’s That Time Of Year

Friday Nov 16, 2007

Winter is slowly making itself visible here the past few days. Yesterday I was walking through the slush in my sneakers and ended up with both of my feet soaking wet. Not to mention all muddy from the path I take into work.

Seems that it is that time of year to buy some Outdoor footwear for the winter. Some of you probably already know that I do most of my shopping online and have the stuff just delivered to my door. I find that a lot of online stores usually have free shipping if you spend a certain amount like Danner Boots for example.

Last year I got a pair of slip resistant shoes online at Danner boots and they are still holding up very well with all the abuse I put them through at work, with all the grease and banging around. So I am going to go through their outdoor footwear and pick out a good pair of winter boots that will last for several seasons.

Some of you might be saying, “WOW! You are going to pay THAT much for boots?” Well, yes I am.

I’ve bought the cheap bargain ones in the past and just found that I was replacing them every few months, which ended up making me spend more than what I would have if I bought a rugged pair of footwear. So making that ONE purchase is better than making several ones in my opinion.

It’s calling for rain and snow tonight. To bad I haven’t made the order a few weeks earlier because I’ll probably be ending up with wet feet again in the morning.

UNGH! What is my printer cartrige type again?

Thursday Nov 15, 2007

Lexmark Z52As some may have read a few weeks ago, that I got completely frustrated with the piece of crap printer that I got for free with my computer purchase and threw it across the room.

So now I have to set up my old Lexmark Z52 so I can print out some new resumes and such. Just one problem though. The ink is empty and there isn’t an empty cartridge in it so I can use to know what type of cartridge I need.

Thankfully Cartridge Finder is a site that is just perfect for such a situation like mine.

You can find and locate what types of cartridges you can use for your particular printer, and it will even give you locations in your area as to where you can purchase them and for how much.

You just use the easy to use interface by selecting what brand your printer is, then the model, it even has photos of the printers to make things easier.

This is very easy to use.

Now I know what type of printer cartridge my printer needs, so I just have to pick one up and get them resumes printed out.

Hope this helps out others.

ASP.NET

Thursday Oct 25, 2007

Codango Labs just released a new ASP.NET application review of XSE shopping cart. They took XSE for a whirl around the virtual store and found that its extensive features and excellent technical support made it a solid ecommerce app. They did say that its one squeaky wheel is its UI, but nevertheless, it’s a shopping cart that’s ready to roll. Online Shopping

Thursday Oct 25, 2007

I have been browsing a lot of sites to see what they have that might interest me and when I find something I like I go to http://www.couponchief.com/ to see if they have any promo codes that I can use to save some cash on my purchases.

Since the Christmas holidays are just around the corner I have actually been doing a lot of online shopping, simply because I can’t get enough time to myself to be able to go out to the malls, especially since I work the graveyard shift and sleep most of the business day away. So online shopping is not only more convenient for me, but I also get to save money with coupons codes like Staples Deals on my computer supplies like Blank DVD’s, Printer Paper, and sometimes PC Game purchases.

I get a lot of Electronic deals with Tiger Direct Deals. I buy most of my computer hardware through them just because I find their site so easy to buy from and they ship next day, and getting me stuff quick is a big bonus for me, and saving a lot of money is even better. My last purchase was 2GB of DDR Memory. I saved a bundle with the coupon codes.

If you shop online, then you should see if your store is listed on the http://www.couponchief.com/ website, you might end up saving bundles, like I have been lately.
