Christmas/Winter Theme
Saturday, November 25, 2006 21:22 | 110 viewsJust finished up some minor touch ups to the new Christmas/Winter theme. I dropped the whole beer bubble thing on the logo and scripted in some snow. At least the colors match now. I'm going to add random animations, like a sleigh sliding down a hill, or snowman rolling by to it later.
I even made a flash analogue clock to stick on the side bar. Spent a lot of time getting the numbers in the right places. Believe it or not, but that was harder than you may think.
I noticed one thing about the theme though. IE7 grinds to a standstill when it tries to render the flash and snow flakes that fall down the page. Figures IE would be screwed up.
Not worried about IE anyway. Visitors will get the message that they have a crappy browser anyway.
Hope you all like it. I know I do.

The snow instead of the beer bubbles was definitely a great idea. I really like what you’ve done. And really, you can let this theme carry over past christmas by just removing the lights.
How much would you charge our OBL to help with her new site?

Thanks Skye,
I’ll be keeping this theme up till just after the New Year.
As far as setting a price, it all depends on what it is you want done.
Just to give you an idea. This Christmas Theme starting from scratch, that’s doing all the graphics, coding, flash, and flash action scripting (What makes the snow and the clock work), I would throw a $50 price tag on it. Just because the entire site is based on 1 template and doesn’t need an individual template for each page. Thanks to wordpress.
