Check out my post about this upgrade. There’s no going back once you upgrade. It permanently changes your database tables. Wordpress 2.0 branch will be supported for a long time. This upgrade is a feature upgrade, meaning new features have been introduced. Things have been rearranged and changed. Some things are welcome and some take some getting used to. Back up your database before you go for it. Then you can go back if you have to.

I think I’ll upgrade the family blog and play with that for a while before I do “the World.”
You’ll be a bit fudged up when you update. The buttons are all mixed up. It took me a bit of time to figure out where everything was.
Akismet is now in the comments tab, not ‘manage’ like it used to be.
Things are a bit different. You’ll know what I mean when you update and go to post something.
You see that I didn’t reply to your comment, bro? I was on the phone with you. I know how whacked you were (but I wasn’t with getting up at 6am). I’m just saying that this upgrade is a good one to back up the ole database to, as it messes with it real good. I’ve got a few plugins that I think that you may notice I I haven’t been using since I upgraded to 2.1, about a month ago.
