Friday The 13th: Killer Cut

OK, I’m not going to sugar coat this one. The Friday the 13th: Killer Cut remake directed by Marcus Nispel was far from entertaining. Well for me at least. I say that because I was one of the many who saw the originals when they first came out, but for those who are new to the whole Friday the 13th world, then they may get a bit of entertainment out of it.
I put together a clip that was rather difficult to do because it’s pretty much the same throughout the entire movie. Just senseless killing with no real story line except a guy looking for his lost sister, but even with that the movie goes off the storyline a lot.
this is something you might just want to watch to kill some time on a dark and boring night. Or maybe a slasher movie fest party over some weekend where a bunch of buddies get together to party and get drunk while watching horror movies. I dunno, I’m just sayin’.
I didn’t care much for the movie, but it was a time filler for the night there was nothing but re-runs on TV.
Get the Friday the 13th: Killer Cut DVD for home viewing in a cold dark room. Then you just might get into the movie, but not THAT into the movie.
Watch it if you wanna’, but I wouldn’t recommend it for those who grew up watching the originals. Or rent it from Blockbusters using your free trial.

I was wondering about this one. I was tempted to watch it, but you’ve confirmed what I was afraid of – that it would pale in comparison to the great first attempts. Just because today’s special effects can be better than yesterdays doesn’t mean that today’s directions or rewrites will produce a better movie. i guess that I’ll avoid this one, then.

@MrCorey – Yea. It really doesn’t stand up to the originals. The shock value was completely missing. No “Jumping out of your seat” , or “Holy Shit” moments at all. Just senseless killing.
Effects were OK I suppose too.
I would recommend that younger folk watch the old ones instead. They’re better.
