GERD Is Getting Really Bad Lately
Tuesday, June 16, 2009 1:28 | 78 viewsTo make matters worse, I have just two pills left and I have nothing to buy any more. I’ve been popping them like candy which is why I ran out way sooner than I should have. But the pain gets so intense, I can’t help pop them like candy.
I would make a Doctors Appointment, but that would be pointless for a couple of reasons. One would be that I don’t know my work schedule from one week to the next and by the time I do it’s to late to book one. And two, I am flat broke and wouldn’t be able to buy the prescription that I know she will prescribe me anyway.
They say stress doesn’t really make it worse, but I’m thinking people who say that don’t actually have the condition in the first place. Because when I’m at work and I get some asshole on the line (which is about 99.9999% of the time) and they start ranting about some fucked up thing which is their fault or is because of their impatience and stupidity, I can feel the burning sensation make it’s way up my chest and start to burn and cause chest pains.
It’s so bad now that even burping burns like hell.
It’s going to really suck when I take my last two pills. I’m going to be so screwed. Probably end up going to the hospital by the end of the week..

@melody – Yea. It’s does suck. Especially right now because it’s flaring up now and I took one pill and it’s not working and all I have is one left.
What’s even worse is that I’m so broke and if I have to go to the hospital I don’t have the cab fair to cover the drive there and back home.
FUBAR!

Mac, is GERD the same thing as Acid Reflux? If not it sounds just as bad…
I have to take a pill every day to combat that. Good luck, I know it sucks.

Perhaps you will luck out if you go to the doctor, and she will give you free samples. It’s worth asking.

@Butch – It’s about 10,000 X worse. Sometime you will wake up chocking from the crap running out from your stomach into your throat, and sometime right out of your mouth if you don’t keep your head elevated higher then your stomach.
I don’t like to compare it to Acid Reflux because it’s a lot more painful than that and some people simply associate acid reflux to heart burn. It’ts like comparing a sauna to a fiery inferno.

@skye – I tried that at the Hospital already, My personal Doc would, but I would have to book an appointment and I can’t do that with the shitty job I have now. I don’t know what I’m working from week to week and they don’t give you time off unless you book it a month in advance.
I did get lucky though. Dad dropped by while I was at work to drop some off. Unfortunately. I was at work. Moms going to come by tomorrow. I just have to try and make it through the night.
