WOW! This is actually very concerning! Some of the authorities are even saying that tonight the river will peak to 1973 flood levels.
I actually have the local news on the TV right now and I have to be honest that I’m not liking what I’m hearing and seeing at the moment. The rain that we are/were getting is the main reason for the concern.
If you want, you can take a look at some aerial photos that were taken last Friday. The images cover a large area surrounding the winding path of the Saint John River. There is also a 45 minute long aerial video to watch if you have the time.
All I can say is if it actually gets as bad as the flood of 73′ then I might be in some serious trouble, especially when I’m on the basement floor in this apartment.
Of all the times that you want the weatherman to be wrong, this is one of them times.
It’s too bad they turned the web cams off on the river front, then I would be able to see from home.

Wow – just saw the aerial pics. I hope it doesn’t get so bad that you have to grab the cats and get outta there, but hey, if it looks like it could then don’t you waste any time!
It’s raining like crazy now. I think I’m safe *crossing fingers* There’s one place I know of and it it gets close to it, I’ll know it is time to get the heck out of dodge.
They’re really concerned about tonight because of the heavy rain. It’s supposed to stall over the city, but then there are other networks that say differently. Hard to know who to listen to really.
You know the media though, they blow the facts up a lot more to make it sound interesting.
dude i think the high water mark is…. brunswick street. i think your safe haha
and what the hell is a hip waiter? a guy that waits on your hips?
Nooo, silly. It’s a server who is really hip.
Actually that should be Waders.
we moved all the computer equipment out of the basement of george street middle today in prep for flooding
Sounds like fun.. *sarcasm*
Wow. It took 45 minutes to get home today, since the two onramps are closed due to the water on the road. Some poor lady’s car looked like it went kaput on Westmoreland around George St. There was coolant on the road – never a good sign.
Holy Crap!
Corey, you should take pictures.
Yup DL, Holy Crap!
For you, my friend, I have taken pictures tonight.
I’ll be adding some from my side too Corey.
