This is the time of year when the weather gets so cold it can freeze the balls off a brass monkey.

The heat is included in the rent that I pay for the apartment here, but it seems that when it gets really cold outside, the heater can’t pump out enough heat to fight the cold coming from outside.

The windows are new and there aren’t any drafts or leaks in them, but when it’s super cold outside, it still makes it way through.

I had the super look into it and she had some guys take a look and that was it. I remember one of the guys saying to the other one, “It’s the same problem as the other units.” So it’s not just me, but I never heard from them. Never heard if it could be fixed, or if they will fix it.

The other day, it was getting chilly in here and I just said, “Fuck it!” and went next door and bought one of them portable heaters.

It’s nice and cozy warm in here now.

I really hate the cold! So this seems to be the only way to fight the chilly willies.

I am only using the heater when the building heat can’t put out enough, and the heater is one of them Energy Saving ones that supposedly don’t suck up a lot of power. So spending a crapload on power bills won’t be a problem, I hope. If it does though, I’ll be a pain in the apartment owners ass by constantly asking when they’re going to fix the heat.

I would be on their case about it now, but I just don’t have the time or energy to waste on it.
