First off when the day actually cam to go get a moving truck, we were told there weren’t any available in the entire city. Shoot Damn Frig, G-Dammit! Now what the hell am I going to do now?
Good thing Dad was persistent in calling around for Truck rentals because he ended up snagging one for me, but one with a limited window to use. I’LL TAKE IT, I DON’T CARE!, is what I said. Well a little more reframed than that, but my mind was screaming … it really was.
Strange thing is, the lady I called at that same company told me they were booked till the 5th. Hmmm. Did I seem like I was U-Haul trash and didn’t deserve to rent a truck. Maybe I sounded like I was about to use it to fill with farmers fertilizer? Who knows, but she blatantly lied to me on the phone. But OH gee whiz. You get a old fart on the line… he’s so innocent… We’ll give you the frigging truck.
She had that Odd look on her face when I asked her why she said to me that she didn’t have any available that OH, Shit… That was you.. I’m going to shrink now.
Ah-well anyway, that was the way the move went, it’s almost like this move was cursed from the beginning. First they changed the move in date, so reserving a truck (As many of you were probably thinking) would have been pointless, then the fact that getting the truck was almost a no go. We can’t forget the smashing of the toe, the burn now can’t we, and oh yea, the cold sore. Fregging bad luck if you ask me!
Guess what, it gets worse! Besides the Cricket taking any sleep away from me, last night we were hist with a major Thunder and Lightning storm that ripped though the area. Knocking out power to a lot oif folks for the entire night and day.
That same “NOISY” Storm kept me up all night because the thunder was directly above my head, and the lightening was dancing all around my parents place. I was lying there saying to myself, “John, you’re luck has been so shitty lately, you’ll be one of them poor smocks that get ZAPPED by lightning while lying in bed. Thank God that didn’t happen.. *knocking on wood just in case*
The moving van leaked a little, getting a wet spot on my futon and wetting the particle board on my computer desk making a part of the top look like it has a bumpy skin rash. If it were brand new, I would have had them replace it, but it’s at least 6 years old now.
The cats were very scared to come out of the washroom after I let them out (Had them locked in there while the front door was open while moving shit into the place.)
The cats snooped around, very jumpy at every noise… but you know what? After it quieted down, they seemed to have gotten into the groove. (And Trouble Again.)
I still have a lot of unpacking to do, and a lot of picture and Sword Hanging to do. I’m very sore right now, but the beer is helping with that pain. The beer that I was going to pay all the helpers that helped me move in. The ones that didn’t volunteer, or the ones that weren’t available, or even the ones that were supposed to help out but didn’t show. Hmm, the beer is nice and cold.
I think I’ll be up all night till morning, buzzed out of my tree setting up this joint! Should be quite interesting to see when I wake up. Te-he-he-he!

Glad you made it to Freddy Beach safely. Sorry to hear that you have the opposite reaction to thunder and lightning. I usually sleep like the dead when its stormy like that. Good rest weather, due to all the negative ions.

I may be back, but I’m still sore as hell and completely exhausted.
I still have things to do to set up and unpack, but I’m so frigging sore and tired, I can’t seem to do anything.
Plus I have to work tonight too.

Ugh, I hate moving and I hope I don’t have to do it again for a very VERY long time. I used to like thunder storms but now that I have a kid I just want the storm to end before it wakes her up, heh
