It’s Been A Hard Days Night
Posted by macbros | Under Work | 295 views Thursday Feb 5, 2009And I’ve been working like a Dog.
This work week so far has been a bitch, to say the least. The idiots and assholes were just oozing out of the woodwork all week. The whole lot of them are a bunch of useless sacks of hammers that are a waste of air.
I just wish there was a way to zap the shit out of them and have them vaporized as a special service to the world. A special service to keep the human race from falling deeper and deeper into a world of stupidity. That way we wouldn’t have to waste time and resources and be able to deal with the real issues and problems us regular people might have, and I say might, because it’s possible that we wouldn’t need to be calling people like me because we’re able to solve things on our own.
Anyway, I wanted to post this little incident yesterday, but my host was down for the day for some big upgrades, who by the way are offering their Rudolf Plan again for those that interested. For as low as $48 one-time fee, you can own a hosting plan account for life. Just make sure you use my CUPON CODE: CUSTHC50 during sign up, and you’ll get 50% off.
This lady, who was obviously east Indian and had a really thick Indian accent, called in about something that I can’t remember because she went all crazy just after I solved her initial problem. She needed a service that involved needing to have three pieces of ID, and she didn’t have the standard SIN ID (similar to the US’s SSN ID) or Provincial Drivers licence, because she was not a Canadian Citizen. The words that came out of her moth next almost had me wanting to jump through the telephone line and strangle the living shit out of that fucking bitch. I wanted to wrap my hands around her Laser Pointer Forehead’s neck and squeeze till that red dot popped off.
When asked for her SIN and Drivers license, she responded with, “I dunt have anie of dem tings. I wood never want such stupid tings frumm such a shtoopid counry.”
Yea, that’s right. Word for word. As best as I could type in the accent. She said it. And Canada is supposed to be a nice Host and accommodate the likes of her?
Again, a perfect moment for that vaporization button. I would have done the world a favor.
Then she went on about a $1 charge on her account and that (Company) was ripping her off 5¢ every call she made. When I tried to re-assure her that (Company) wasn’t ripping her off , even though I was still looking for my vaporizing button, she cut me off and wouldn’t shut the fuck up and started talking faster and faster till she was about up to 500 words per second and sounding like a rabid chicken on an acid trip.
Even after I gave her the $1 back she continued on for another 10 or so minutes. I took my headset off because her voice was making me nauseous. I wanted to tell her to use that fucking dollar on the first plane ticket back to her fucking hole in the ground in whatever country she came from because I was unable to find that damn vaporization button.
Then last night, some yahoo calls in about voice mail problems, simple fix on my part. Just one thing prevented me from fixing it though, the customer suddenly went off when she asked me if it uses airtime on her cell phone if she checks her voicemail with it and when I told her yes.
“WHAAAAAAA????!!!!”, was the only part I can recall because she went on for about 45 minutes and never took a breath. Then went on to saying, “why does your records show 69 seconds on call X and my phone says it was just 49 seconds?” I told her that her handset was starting the timer when the call connects, and (Company)’s system starts the moment you press send (Green Button).
I guess that answer wasn’t what she wanted to hear and went on and on and on and ….on. Asked me the same question several times and I gave the same answer to the point that when she asked me the same question, she wouldn’t let me say anything and just cut me off.
Damn, where is that button!!!!
My entire work week this week has been like this. Some people make me sick. Don’t they have a life or something better to do that whine and complain about bullshit on the phone with strangers.
People were complaining about small things too. Why will the store take my foreign credit card for airtime, but your system won’t? and the simple answer is, “It just won’t because the stores POS is set up for them and the (Company)’s system can’t store foreign credit card info.”
Another one is when somebody calls from a subway or some other noisy place and bitches because the automated voice system can’t make out what they’re saying and sends them through to me to get their refill information. “I hate that thing! She never works!”, is what I usually hear, and sometimes can’t hear them myself. But it’s the robots fault they are an idiot I guess.
Then you have the ones complaining that it took 2 minutes to get through to me. “I have to go through all these options to get through to you (4 – 5 options OMG!), this is so inconvenient!”
Some people are so reliant on technology these days for their convenience, but if it takes them more than a few seconds to complete, it’s a big deal.
These people should be stripped of all technology, and given an old phone that you need to crank and hold the earpiece to your head and speak into another tube on the box to get through to an operator that they will then need to tell who they want to call and then wait for the operator to connect the call for them.
Have things like TV remotes taken away and make it so they have to get UP to change the channel. Make them do this for a few months and then see if they are so impatient when they have their precious technology back.
This is just my opinion and you’re entitled to it.
There, that rant made me feel a bit better, but unfortunately I have to deal with them again tonight…. *sigh*

This is me commenting from work. Things are the same. The freaks are out in full force. I can’t wait to get the hell home!
Surprisingly, I think that you may have a good point and I think getting rid of some technology (especially for some people) would be an improvement for all of us.
@teeni – That and a lesson on how to be a lot more respectful to the country that is hosting you. Nothing pisses me off more than an ungrateful POS.
