I was going to snap some pictures of the shitty weather we’re getting right now and my Digital camera is dead! ![]()
I’ve had the thing for around seven or so years now and all of a sudden it craps out. I tried to use it earlier today and the low battery indicator came on so I threw in another fresh set of charged batteries and it said the batteries were dead too, and the camera won’t do anything so it’s useless until a fresh set of batteries are in it. So I recharged the whole lot of them and threw them back in the camera, and *beep* *beep* the low battery indicator comes on again. WTF?
I took the batteries and tested them and they were fully charged. WTF?
I put them back in, and *beep* *beep* the low battery indicator comes on. Shit! WTF?! I need my camera! What the heck am I gonna use to take naked pictures of myself with??!! All them poor sexy ladies out there won’t be getting any more nude photos of me anymore. Oh No!
I’ve had this camera for so long and never had any problems with it. I even had it recalled and repaired for free by Kodak because of a defect that apparently was electrocuting people. I didn’t get a shock, but a free refurbish and cleaning, why not?
It’s an old camera, and I have no idea what it would cost to have repaired.
It’s obviously a sensor issue because the batteries are not dead, the camera is.
What timing too. Now would be a good time to win that photo contest for sure. I couldn’t be in any more dire need for a new camera than now.
The Kodak DC5000 was a good camera. It just sucks that it just decided to up and die on me just all of a sudden. DAMN!

You sure the lens didn’t crack while you were -taking- those nude photos?
It’s got a protective lens covering for such abuse Rich. So It’s not that.
I was wondering who would be the first to note that particular paragraph. Wasn’t expecting it to be you though.

Couple of other things to think about. I suspect the batts are NiCads. If they are the same age as the camera, go buy a couple new ones. They lose capacity over time. Remember, volts does not equal capacity. If the batts are NiMH, the same applies. If they’re the same size as say AA or AAA regular batts, try a couple of those. They’re far cheaper than the rechargables. At least you could narrow the problem down.
Did a quick check. It will take four AA Alkalines. Give it a try.
Thanks Skul but thee are Alcaline batteries. And are Brand New too. They power other devices when tested too.
My Vibrator, pocket pussy, and dial a whore all work fine.
Seriously. The Batteries aren’t the deal Dude. I have been using the same brand of Batteries for the past 7 years. They aren’t dead, they are Brand new and work perfectly.
It’s the camera. I’m certain.
In a nut shell, poop.
