Crime, Drama, and Thriller is what Mr. Brooks really is when it comes to genre categories. Kevin Costner put on a really good show, I usually don’t really care much for his older stuff, but this movie character, Mr. Brooks, is played very well by Mr. Costner.

A psychological thriller about a man who is sometimes controlled by his murder-and-mayhem-loving alter ego.

William Hurt who plays Marshal, which just so happens to be Mr. Brooks’ alter ego, who lives inside of Mr. Brooks’ mind. A weird and sick kind of imaginary friend for grown ups in a sense. His existence thrives on Mr. Brooks’ murderous lifestyle/hobby secret and is in danger of being snuffed out when Mr. Brooks wants to retire from the killing. Luckily Mr. Brooks slips up and is seen by a Photographer, Mr. Smith (Dane Cook), but instead of turning Mr. Brooks into the cops, he bribes Mr. Brooks, with the photos he took of him killing his last victims, into taking him on his next little murder night. And that’s pretty much how the movie plays out.

But there’s a twist, and that is what you’ll have to find out on your own. :p

I really enjoyed this movie. I wasn’t bored with it at all because it was a vicious psychological thriller and it captivated me through the entire movie. This may not be some action packed movie, but the storyline will keep you entertained, so get it if you haven’t already seen it, in fact you might even like to see this one more than once.
