Groundhog Day

That damn rodent just pissed off a lot of people today, myself included.

He saw his shadow, and what that means is that we can all expect to have to put up with at least another six more weeks of this fregging winter.

With this winter being as nasty as it has been, this news is not a welcomed one.

A groan arose from a large crowd gathered in Wiarton, Ont., to hear Wiarton Willie’s prediction when the furry forecaster made it known there would be six more weeks of winter.

 

It was clearly not the answer the crowd of about 200 people, some wearing groundhog noses or carrying signs pledging love for Willie, wanted to hear. There were a few cheers at the prospect of a long winter, but most people looked disappointed – and cold – and then shuffled off to work on a Monday morning.

It’s the start of Feburary, and it usually ends up being one of the worst months of teh witer season too. If you thought the past few weeks were cold, I’m banking that the next few will be just as bad or worse. I can remember awhile back when we were to expect a prolonged winter and Feburary was a bitch of a month. It was super cold and full of blizzard like weather.

Six more weeks of this shit? I don’t wanna!
