Pulling Out My Meat

I had plans to upload a video today, but when I got home, I fell asleep after eating some dinner.
When I woke up, I turned on the news to see if there was anything new about the Listeriosis Outbreak with Maple Leaf Meats. With 26 confirmed cases and 12 deaths, I went routing through my fridge checking out the meat products I had while using the recent Recall list of tainted meats.
Thankfully the only thing I have is a couple packs of Hot Dogs (Great Fart Smells) and one I’ve already consumes part of and thankfully they are not on the list.
This is some really scary shit in my opinion (which you are entitled to). We all take for granted and put so much trust in the foods we purchase.
If you have Maple Leaf products, you might want to go through them and make sure they aren’t on the recall list. The list can be found on my Tainted Maple Leaf Meats Linked To 12 Deaths post on my Mac’s Opinions site.
It’s late and I’m groggy, so it looks like the video editing will have to wait for another day. Maybe tomorrow.

Yeah, that was quite a daring post title. I think you may need to end up doing a “Funky Search Term” post soon. I can only imagine the hits you’ll get now. You have a good point about us trusting the food too much. I swear that anything you can do from scratch from the most basic food stuffs is the best way to go. It just is hard for people who work and stuff. We need to put together recipes that are simple, easy and yummy for people who work so they can eat healthy even if they don’t have a lot of time.
12 deaths? bloody hell, that’s a nasty outbreak… enough to make you a veggie.
teeni – I cook everything from scratch, taught myself a few years ago. One of the best things I’ve ever done. We should all make a blog for good easy recipes, I’d donate the space & bandwidth if I had some help with contributions. Anyone up for it?
I am so happy I am a vegetarian. Yes we have had a few scares with some veggies, but all in all it has not been too bad. Right now it is perfect because I buy all produce that has been grown locally. So tasty…ymmmm.

@theenglishguy – I just saw your response at MacBro’s place regarding the web site for simple recipes for foods from scratch. I’m interested in it. I don’t know that I’d be able to contribute too much all on my own but I’d love to hash out some ideas with you and see where it can go from there.
