Religon Vs Commen Sence
Posted by MacBros | Under My Opinion | - 242 Peepers read this post. Friday Aug 26, 2005There was an article that Corey had brought to my attention this week that I can’t seem to find. UPDATE: It’s found here(Thanks Corey) But it was about the fact that workers on a construction site that refused to wear hard hats because they thought it was within their right to follow their religious beliefs/right to wear turbins. This is a touchy topic so by this point you should know what I’m talking about. They feel that they should be allowed to wear turbins on the constrution site instead of a hard hat. I say don’t even bother to argue with this and let them! And like Corey suggested, make them sign a waiver stating that the company they work for will not be held responsible for anything that may have been prevented by a hard hat. That way, the stupid ones can be weeded out. By saying that, I’m not suggesting anything, what I’m saying is that if anybody wants to be as so stupid as to think a piece of cloth would protect their head from a violent strike deserves to be in a wooden box. Less in the gene pool if you know what I mean. And again, I mean stupidity in the gene pool.
That’s my opinion and you’re entitled to it.
This post was by no means meant to be racial, but if you think it was, put your turbin on and smack yourself in the head with a hammer.

You’re referring to this CBC Story. I must say that I don’t really agree with deviating from whatever peace officer’s normal uniform because of a consistant need for recognition of one’s role in the world. I can sympathise with religious wants, but, really, does having your head busted open like a melon justify the need to cover your hair? I just don’t get it. Why choose the less reasonable path?
Either make them sign the waiver or let them go build things in their homelands where .. who knows…. maybe it’s illegal to wear anything on their head other than a turban while doing construction work.
