Restoring GeoCities!

Friend and fellow blogger Corey Thompson posted a link to ReoCities a few days ago and I have been randomly selecting different links from the site to see if I would land on one of mine that I had a very long time ago. So long ago that I cannot remember the name or link to the account I had.

They should really think about implementing a search form so people like me can try and find their old homestead.

I have a couple of old school Flash animations that I did up when Flash was brand spanking new to the internet. I would like to find them again and re-post them here.

Speaking of old school, these were web pages without CSS, PHP and were filled with animated GIF images.  That one long page that scrolled on for ever as the author added newer and newer content.

I think what ReoCities is doing is an awesome idea. There are a lot of memories on those web pages.  A lot of people used them as memorials thinking they would be there forever. People used them to share Ideas, news events, and a lot of other  useful information.

I had a web site named Party Animals World and I had a lot of stuff on there. Old Flash Animations and a shitload of MIDI Files that I put together. Hundreds of MIDI Files actually now that I think of it.

ReoCities is trying to restore as many web pages as they can at the same time skipping over the dead and blank pages, and they’ll all be Read Only pages so if you find yours you won’t be able to edit it as they’re all just static pages and no backdoor entrance for editing them.

I had multiple accounts with GeoCities to store all my stuff, I wish I could find them again. Have you had a GeoCities Page? Is it listed in ReoCities? Are you going to ask to get it restored?
