Retro Line Art Self Portrait
This is a self portrait using Photoshop. The style is called Retro Line Art and it was all done with nothing but Photoshop.
This is something that you will see in comic books. It’s pretty much the same effect. Sometimes called Pop Art.
The image makes use of clipping, desaturate, threshold, blurs, bitmaps, half tones, and blending layers and masking. That’s probably a lot of foreign words to non Photoshop users, but those who use Photoshop know what I’m saying.
It all started from a simple photo with the background removed.
The only real hand drawn thing in the image is the black lines used to outline the eyes and make the lines in the hand and hair on my head and goatee. The rest is just simple Photoshop techniques layering different colors of a template over one another. And coloring between the lines. 
Pretty neat huh?

Harrumph to the negative norman commenters. Photoshop is not an easy program to master and your self-portrait is a darn good retro pix. Is there a tutorial for this technique?

I was teasing John about posting that he did a self image of himself.
As for the pic, I think he did a great job.

Cool photoshop! I really like that retro effect. You really are talented. Now we just have to find a way for you to make money using your talents!

@teeni – Yes, please do find a way to get me making money using this talent.
I actually just finished writing a tutorial for this. I’m about 3/4’s of the way through at the moment.
Calling it a night because I’m tired and need to go to bed soon.
