Shadow of the Colossus

shadow of the colossus Shadow of the Colossus has to be one of the more unique and original games that I’ve ever played. I have to warn you before you read on, “There will be some major spoilers in this post.”

Developed by Sony Computer Entertainment’s team behind the critically acclaimed ICO. Players take the role of a young man seeking the truth of an ancient tale of power hidden in a mystical land. Shadow of the Colossus is a majestic journey through ancient lands to seek out and destroy gigantic mythical beasts. With a trusty horse at your side, players explore the spacious lands and unearth each towering Colossus creature. The uneasy task of defeating a Colossus relies on intelligent puzzle solving and action oriented gameplay. Armed with strong wits, a mystical sword and a sturdy bow, players use cunning and strategy to topple each behemoth.

It would be like taking on a giant the size of the Empire State Building with nothing but a small sword and a Bow N’ Arrow. With your trusty black horse, you venture into this huge world.
The 16 different giants you take on are pretty easy to defeat, once you know all the weak spots. A lot of the time you spend looking for them hidden throughout the world.

Now the strange thing was that when you kill one of these things, stringy black things will fly out of their dead body and strike you down. Next thing you know you’re back at the place you started. That was the dumb part.
The graphics were awesome, full of scenic objects like birds flying in the air, turtles crawling in places, and the black lizards. There was a lot of detail put into this game.
The ending is fucked up though, because you end up dying after you defeat the game. Long too, around 20-25 minutes.
I’ve been playing this for the past few days trying to finish it, by playing it when I got the chance. I even shunned Corey a couple of time, because I didn’t want to chat while I was glued to the tube.

Well I gotta jet. It’s late and I’ve got to work in the morning.
If you wanna’ play a good PS2 Game, I recommend this one. For a rental though, because the replay value would be lost after the 2nd or 3rd time playing. If you complete the game, it unlocks a ‘Hard’ play mode.

Well g’night ya’ll!

Thanks for the tip. I’ve been looking for a good PS2 game. I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about The Warriors – supposedly it has great replay value. Have you played it?

I’m not into them ring fighting games. I’m more of a RPG, FPS, person that plays games with free roam. Being restricted to fighting in an areana/street isn’t my type of game.

C’mon now, MacBros. I thought you’d be in the loop on this one.

The Warriors is supposed to be like GTA in a way. Free roaming, fighting, looting, stealing stuff, etc. I think the main character is a gang member.

If I rent it and like it, I’ll let you know.

I didn’t realize it was like GTA, I thought it was like them Mortal Combat/Street fighter like games.
I’ll have to check it out sometime.

Just added a few more banned words.
If this keeps up I’m going to have to create a spam word page.
I’ve got this down to just a couple in a blue moon, from 30 every 2 days.

You know that you wanna get the “bad behavior” plugin. You know that you wanna…

I’ve had no unwanted commenters since I installed it. I’m almost ready to try removing moderation for a while to see what happens…but not yet!

Does Bad Behaviour put them into moderation? Because the banned words don’t even touch the site and I never have to waste my time moderating crap.

Its your choice, really, but mine are gone without my knowledge. That’s why I encouraged anyone who had problems commenting to email me about it. ;) No emails.
