Star Gazer

I can remember the first time I ever looked through a high end telescope. It was when my cousin and I were at her babysitting job and I believe we were both around 12 years old or so.

Anyway, the person my cousin was babysitting for had a set of really nice meade telescopes. I have never looked through one of these things till that night, and when I did I spent the entire night staring at the moon examining every single nick and cranny of every crater and rock.

If you have ever looked at the moon through a high powered telescope you’ll know what I mean. My cousin decided she would grab the other one and we spent most of the night saying things like, “Oooo! Look here!” and “OH COOL! Check this out!” It was one of them moments in your life that just seem to make a permanent imprint into your memory.

Did you know with the advancements with today’s technology things like the Meade MySky makes star gazing completely portable and available to anybody that is interested in learning more about our solar system, it’s great especially if you’re a student and is part of your studies. Just think, you can help identify over 30 thousand celestial objects at a click of a button similar to Celestron SkyScout.

It’s become a lot cooler with the latest star gazing hardware than what I had my first experience with. I can only imagine what the kids these days think about the universe when they gaze through these new gadgets. I can only think that they are blown away even more than I was over 25 years ago.

I guess I’ve always been a space cadet at heart.
