If you haven’t seen the latest Star Trek Movie yet, then you had better get your asses in gear and catch this one while the getting is good. Even if you’re new to the whole Star Trek world.
This movie starts off by throwing you right in the thick of things with non stop action and awesome special effects that will blow you away. The previews and trailers don’t do the movie any justice at all, so hopefully this video snippet will let you get a nice juicy taste of what you can expect.
The cast they put together for this film was the perfect choice in my opinion. Each cast member fits into their role perfectly. Even Chris Pine makes a few William Shatner moves and comments we trekkers are familiar with. Zachary Quinto almost looks like the original Spock Leonard Nimoy used to play, who also plays in this movie as the Older Spock.
A chronicle of the early days of James T. Kirk and his fellow USS Enterprise crew members.
I was a bit thrown off (**Spoler alert STARTS**) when Spock and Uhura lock lips. I don’t ever recall them being romantically involved in the TV Series. (**Spoler alert STOPS**) I hope I didn’t ruin that for anybody, but if it was in the TV show and I just didn’t notice then I didn’t spoil anything.
I have to say that I wasn’t actually expecting this movie to be that good. Jonathan Frakes sort of screwed it up for me with his scrappy directing skills with Star Trek: First Contact and Star Trek: Insurrection.
If the last couple of Star Trek movies gave you a bad taste in your mouth like they did mine, then forget you ever saw them, because this one directed by J.J. Abrams is kick ass awesome! Even if you’re not a Star Trek fan but are a Sci-Fi fan, you’ll agree the whole movie experience is worth giving it a chance.
I will admit that I kind of wish they didn’t go the whole time travel story line again though. I think that genres has been done to death. Although they could have dome something different, the whole story of the movie was still pretty good, despite the time travel part, especially how each crewmember came to be part of the U.S.S. Enterprise.
I can smell se sequil coming around the corner very soon.
I’ll be watching this again when it comes out on DVD, it has replay value that’s for sure!
