Strange Points In Time

Saturday Jan 12, 2008

I meant to post this when I got home but the site was down.

Strange EyeA few things happened last night that were kinda freaky to me.

I was working away at the end table in the kitchen doing up some prep when the chef walked by with a large object so I open the fridge door for him as I was right beside it. When I was going back to what I was doing he started saying things and at that moment I had a Déjà vu moment. But this wasn’t your regular, “Woah! That was weird!” moment. It was a Déjà vu moment of having the same Déjà vu of that same particular moment.

Is this possible? It was like I had lived through that same moment three times in a row.

Pretty weird huh? Has anybody had a similar moment?

As some might already be aware, I’ve been sick the past few days. Well anyway, I was working away coughing and wheezing my way through my work. The radio was playing in the background, which I rarely pay any attention to because it’s a noisy kitchen and you can’t really hear it all that well.

Well, up until this moment;

I was hacking away all night and my throat was starting to get raw, there was a lot of work for me to do, but I was dying and just wanted to crawl back into bed, but one time I was coughing up a storm and when it was finished I moaned, “OH GAWD!”

No more than a nanosecond had passed after I had finished making that moan that the radio went, “There ain’t no use in complaining, you have a job to do.” from the lyrics of Bryan Adam: Summer of 69.

Those particular lyrics seemed to cut through all the noise in the kitchen perfectly in that perfect point in time.

With my inside voice I said to myself, “OK, now that was fucking weird!”

But that’s not all folk!

I was getting very sleepy and needed to get a cup of coffee, my arms from the tennis elbow were in a lot of pain. On my way out to the dining room to get a coffee, I was rubbing my arm and I mumbled to myself, “Fuck, I need a better job.” and you know what was playing on the dining room radio? The verse was the first thing I heard.

“Get a job, shaa-naa-naa-naaaaa Sha-naa-naaa-naa-naaa, naa!
Get a job, shaa-naa-naa-naaaaa Sha-naa-naaa-naa-naaa, naa! ”

Was there some higher power or some strange phenomena trying to tell me something? Do I have some sick sixth sence telling me to do something?

Was the Déjà vu a sign telling me that I was into something that was never going to change and if I don’t do something this job with just continue to be a repetitive one?

Was Bryan Adams trying to tell me that no matter how sick you feel, the job is the only thing that matters and not your well being?

And the last one was so obvious that when I got home, I went online and filled out the application that I was putting off for so long.

Corey sent a referral to me after I filled it out and I filled it out a second time because it probably would be better.

Kind of a weird night huh?

Very interesting indeed. I had a very vivid case of deja vu once. The hubby and I used to meet at the gym and work out together when he was taking a college course there and I was active duty. Anyway, one day, I was waiting in the hall when he came out of the classroom with his instructor, whom he introduced. I swear, I had stood in that hallway before with James introducing me and his professor. It was so creepy. It’s been 6 years or more and I am still creeped out over that. @-)

I know I’ve had deja vu moments in the past, but none are coming to mind at the moment.

As for all those incidents happening like that, what more could you need for proof that you gotta do what you gotta do. Glad you did it :)

Skye, I just hope it was the right thing to do.

Well, I’m pretty sure I’ve had deja vu moments just like that, where even as they are happening, I’m sure that they have happened before and that even me thinking that they have happened before has happened before. LOL. I don’t know if the radio means anything but I think you definitely need a new job. You don’t need a radio to tell you that. You know it yourself. ;)
