Well, getting wasted and trying to make something work didn’t go so well.
I ended up wasting an entire evening/night trying to get my Playstation 3 to display subtitles when playing a movie. I was using a movie file that came with some subtitle files.
For the life of me, I couldn’t figure out what was going wrong. Everything is set properly and there is really no reason why the subtitles aren’t showing up. I played one section of a movie where this guy speaks German and the subs wouldn’t show up. I played it over and over so many times I think I was starting to understand what he was saying. But then again that could be the beer effect.
The Lion was getting pissed off. I think I named every cuss word known to man. “Why isn’t this Fu@king piece of Sh*t good for nothing Mutha Fuc#ing Thing not working!!??”
When I found out why it wasn’t working, it was one of them, ‘Slap in the forehead’ moments.
DOUGH!
I should have tested out another movie. Just to make sure it wasn’t the subtitle files that were corrupt. Yup, that would have saved me hours and hours of time.
As it turns out. The subtitle files were FUBAR!
So I downloaded some working sub files and it’s all working nicely.
So I suppose I let others know how to get subtitles to play on your PS3.
Get a free copy of AVIAddXSubs. This will create a DIVX file of the movie and encode the subtitles into the files also. It doesn’t recode the video, and it takes about a minute or two to create it.
Now the latest firmware update on the PS3 was supposed to let you play DIVX files, but for some reason my PS3 was saying the file was Unsupported. I found out that TVersity will overcome that hurdle. So I downloaded it. A nice program too. It has several TV shows you can watch too.
When the PS3 starts playing the movie, you just press the Triangle button to display the menu and select the Subtitle option. Select the language and you’re done! If the subtitle files you used were functioning that is.
The AVIAddXSubs program will use .sub, .idx, and .srt subtitle file types, and you can set the preferences of the way you want the subtitles to display also. It’s actually a useful utility if you stream your movies from your computer to your PS3 but also want to have the subtitles to display. It takes just a minute or two to create the DIVX files containing the subtitles too and doesn’t convert the video and doesn’t have any video quality loss.
The TVersity program is also a useful utility. not only will it allow you to stream movies from your hard drive, but it also allows you to play YouTube, RSS Feeds from other video sites, it also has a few channels you can watch like CNN, G4, and so on. It’s almost like having a separate television provider.
Well anyway, this angry lion is cooling off now. A bit of a headache from the beers, but all is fine again. It’s safe to come out from hiding behind the bushes now.

Today was Pay Day, but I like to refer to it as Bill Day.
It seems that before I even get a chance to see any of my hard earned dollars, the bill guys have already taken their portion of my pay check. Not to mention the taxes, but I would rather not get into that, so just refer to this post instead.
The next one to pay up is the Bro. Mac owes Bro for the A/C remember? So he better call me soon to let me know when he wants the cash. I might just drink it while enjoying the nice cool apartment while everybody sweats their asses in this terrible humidity we’re getting.
Payday might be a nice to to most, but when you give it all away before you get to see any, it’s actually a shitty day.
I just hope I can get a few beer out of it, and I’m happy. Just as long as the bills are paid, and I’ve got food in the fridge (beside the beer), I’m happy.
I’m short on the funds because I was actually out with a nasty flu a couple of weeks ago. One and a half days. I tried to go in the second day, but they wanted me to go back home, so it was a half day. That’s almost $175 gone down the drain while I was sick in bed. But that’s old news. Feeling a lot better, except the crappy feeling of throwing the money to the wolves.
I’m going to have to see what I can do to cut back on my TV/Whireless/Internet provider. I think I’m going to drop the movie chanels since it’s all crap anyway. They don’t have the HBO specials on like they did in the past. So that will be some money I won’t have to feed them.
Hopefully after my next payday, I’ll be back on track. Being out sick really fucks up your whole budget and messes with everything. It really sucks….

I had a rough night last night.
I went to bed at an early 8pm Thursday night only to be awaken by some excruciating pain at 11pm. It was like I was in labor every few minutes. The pain had me in the fetal position and whimpering like a wounded animal.
I ended up going into the bathroom and sitting on the can but all that happened was repeated bouts of gut wrenching pain. The cramps were unbearable at times but nothing would go.
Normally when a person gets cramps, they go take a crap, but this wasn’t happening for me. Just the pain and the sounds of stomach squirting went on inside.
After the 3rd hour of this, I was starting to get worried that I was going to be in a position that I would not be able to go into work. I really didn’t want to miss the day, because I didn’t want to be sick just weeks into the new job. So I just kept making the trips to the toilet in hopes something would end up going through and all this cramping would end.
It didn’t happen till about 2am. The squirt factory opened! That’s when I REALLY started to feel bad. The painful cramps persisted and they were accompanied by gushes of jet shit.
So essentially the water broke. The contractions were still going and the squirts went on also.
Finally around 2:30am, things felt better and I managed to go back to sleep. Only to be awaken again at 4am. I was really at the point of desperation. I wanted it to end. I didn’t want to miss the days work either, so I stayed up and waited it out.
It was time to get ready for work. Stomach in pain and having the sick feeling, plus the bouts of some really fast Jet Shit. I looked in the mirror and saw something that was really weird.
It looked like I went through some Botox Sessions while I was in labor or asleep.
My allergies (I think) made my eye lids puff up. I had Asian Eyes or Eskimo Eyes!
I don’t know what the hell was going on but the inside part of my eyes, near the bridge of my nose were puffing up like crazy. There wasn’t any itching though, which is strange when you think about allergies. Was it related to the cramping???
I was concerned about the puffing of the eyes. I made a note to watch them in case they got worse. thankfully they didn’t.
I went to work and did my thing. Thankfully today was a SLOW day.
I drank some Ginger Ale to settle my stomach which actually worked a bit.
I am happy to say that at around 12PM, I gave birth. And I felt a lot better.
Good enough to celebrate with some nice cold Keiths!
I’ll also be editing video and making music tonight. All can be viewed on the cam pages.
I have a lot to do tonight as far as video editing goes and a music composition for a new premier post to a series that I’ll be doing on this blog on a weekly basis. (I’ve said to much! )
Hopefully the booze keeps me creative.
