It’s now been over a month, and several dozen e-mail requests to get information required for transferring of Domain information to an new and better hosting service, and just today, I finally got my first response to all the requests that I have sent.
All I wanted was the EPP Key so I can have my new host take over the domain registration, since they will not only be hosting a clients account for free, but also the Domain too. Well, not for free, but a one time charge for life.
Anyway, I got the EPP Key and now things should be rolling along.
If I had known just how bad the customer service would be with that hosting company, I would have never went to them in the first place. I have never experienced such terrible customer service from a hosting provider in my life.
Shopping for a host shouldn’t be that hard to do these days with all the reviews you can find on the web these days. You can find information for a web host rating on a particular site using services like Web Host Rating. The ratings are given out by the customers the hosting companies serve.
The part that I find that would be very useful to the average person who doesn’t know where to start when choosing a host is the Articles section that will provide tips and tricks on finding a particular type of hosting service and keeping it affordable at the same time.
I’ll be submitting a few ratings, if I find a way, about the host that I am moving one of my clients off of because it was nothing but a nightmare contacting them for anything server related. I would say who, but I don’t even want to send the traffic to them if at all possible because they don’t deserve it.
So if you’re thinking about having your website hosted, just make sure you do your homework first and don’t just jump on the cheapest train ride you see. It might be worth the extra few dollars to get what you need and want instead of a dead host that will not help you. Check out Web Hosting Rating and go through the site. At least this way you’ll probably get something worth your time and money.
This is just my opinion, and you’re entitled to it.

But fortunately for me, I finally found a host that gave me the ultimate plan that was only available for a very short time. Ever since I changed my Wordpress Theme the real load times from the server I’m on are showing off just how great of a Hosting provider THC is. Plus the fact I just had to pay $95 for a life long plan and more space and bandwidth than I can shake a stick at.
If you’re looking for fast web hosting with awesome 24/7 support then you should brows through THC’s plans, they have something new practically every month. But if you don’t want to take my word for it, then you can use a web hosting review site like Web Hosting Geeks where you can read user comments about the hosting providers they have had experience with.

The users of the site give their web hosting reviews on hosting providers that they have or have tried before. Not all the reviews are positive, so at least you’re getting the dirt needed when trying to find your particular hosting provider. This is something unique when it comes to web hosting directories, not all of them have user input and feedback on hosting services, but instead just have hosting ads which are obviously paid placements. I would rather hear what the users are saying, not what the affiliate is saying.
Being a web site designer in my free time, I have actually been with several web hosting providers only to be very disappointed with the service and having to move to yet another bad experience. After awhile I just got really tired of the web hopping and read a lot of Web Hosting articles that gave tips on what to look for in a hosting company. You can read such web hosting articles on their site also. I would recommend that you read some of these if you’re looking for a hosting service. They help you determine what kind of hosing platform you should need for your particular web site, and also tell you what to look for when surf shopping around for one.
Web Hosting doesn’t always have to be frustrating. As I have learned, that doing your homework and not just jumping on the first good deal that you see, is always good practice. I just wish that all these articles and reviews were around when I first started out when Domains Cost $100 a year and hosting was $30 per month for 10MB space.
Live and learn I guess huh?

Lately you can’t open up a web site without seeing some sort of advertising for a Web Hosting service these days.
Everybody claiming to be the best hosting provider over the others, offering unlimited space and bandwidth and so on and so on.
But what do you get with all those extra Giga Bites of space in terms of service? Are you going to actually need all that space and bandwidth? Is is more than what you need?
How does one know what hosting service is best for them? The answer that I think nobody really knows, because each web site is unique in it’s own way and will have its own individual needs. You can read some of the web hosting articles found on WebHost Rating’s blog. They are actually working on a Web Hosting Rating engine soon to be released for easier Web Hosing searching.
The post, ‘3 Things to Consider When Finding Cheap Web Hosting‘ makes a valid point about shared hosting plans when sharing a server with abusers. What if your site is very important to your income and your sites ability to be indexed on search engines becomes a problem because somebody on the same Server IP is getting the IP banned from the search indexers? Anybody who has a blog knows about scrapers and spammers, these scum suckers have to be hosted someplace too. What if you’re sharing a server with a few humndred right now?
I have to say that my host is probably the best for me, and anybody else out there with a blog. THC has the support that goes above and beyond their call of duty and have the fastest servers I have ever been on in the several years of having my sites hosted, new on the scene, but experienced in know how. I believe they should be at the top of WebHost Rating site when it is up and running with the lists of hosting providers.
If you are planning on setting up shop on the internet and wish to have your site hosted, then you might want to read through these web hosting articles first to help you out with knowing what is needed to know when selecting a web hosting plan.
This is just my opinion, and you’re entitled to it.

This is just another update to the update that updated the original Downtime post.
Just so you know, that I know, that you know that this site has been running a tad lot slower than norm over the past few weeks I just wanna’ say that I too know. You know?
So after a few chat support conversations, (Who by the way are super! Never before have I experienced 110% customer support like THC provides.) they have come to the conclusion that with so many clients with my particular Plan For Life plan, there have been an enormous amount of SQL calls. That basically meant that the server would puke and end up not being able to recover. That’s what happened the other day at around 12am (My time) and lasted for about 7 hours or so.
So, with only the customers request, will they move them to another, more stable and faster, server. Mainly because of the down time this will cause due to the transferring of files and databases. They don’t want to move people when either they aren’t having issues or don’t want any downtime. (So I’m thinking anyway, but I could be wrong)
So, as it turns out, that what I thought would take place this weekend is actually going to take place on Wednesday.
I’ve been told that after the transfer has been completed, these sites will be better, faster, stronger, and more stable than any other man has ever been server.
So I have accepted the downtime side effects, just so it all end up better in the long run.
Wouldn’t you do the same?
BTW, THC is still rated the best by far for hosting. Don’t let my little bungle up detour you from an awesome service. AS you can see, the support staff is great to work with and they get the job done. There’s no beating around the bush like other hosts do by trying to point the finger at their customers, and not really taking the time to resolve the issues.
Two Thumbs Up THC!

Kaushal Sheth who usually posts Wordpress, Textpattern, and Blogger themes that you can use on your own blogs has taken a turn in another direction and wants to have a Web Hosting Post grow with useful information that everybody can use in order to make that very important decision on what web hosting provider would be the best for you.
I myself have gone through a lot of web hosts in the past and have wasted a lot of money on useless web hosting providers. I also have seen clients that I have designed web sites for end up in plans they really don’t need.
I am still on a new host that I just bought and I’m holding off on saying anything about them for at least a few months, and I will probably ask Kaushal Sheth to add them as they have been very good so far, but I just don’t want to jump the gun just yet, a few more months first and then I will comment on my host.
I think the idea is a good one because all them other Top 10 Web Hosting sites are phony because they’re paid placement rankings most of the time. What I mean by that is that the top ranking ones are usually hosts that pay for the ranking placement on those sites and can’t be trusted.
If you have had a very good experience with your current web hosting provider, then drop a comment so they can add them, and if your looking for hosting, then check out what they have listed so far.
You’ll probably see THC there sometime soon.

I thought it would a good time to post a follow up post on my new Web Hosting provider THC.
First off I want to salute them for their superb customer service, the only hosting service I have ever dealt with that has ever took the time to e-mail me about server maintenance, commented on my blog, was there 24/7 for my live chat questions, and had the patience to put up with my impatience.
Secondly. The SPEED! I have never had the pleasure of seeing my site load so fast. In the past it took while to load up. I have a lot of things on it and it is not a problem with THC’s servers as they seem to shoot out my site like it was lightning compared to the past host with Hostmonster.
And I shouldn’t forget about the fact that we’ll never have to put up with this nasty eye sore;

That’s right THC will never suspend my site if you guys just happen to visit all at once.
I can’t believe I snagged this great plan too. For just $95 USD I get to see this in my billing summary;
Your current billing period started on Jan 4, 2008 and ends up on Jan 4, 2107
You can’t beat that price! And just by chance they extended the offer and have just under 500 plans left to offer customers and then it’s back to a monthly charge for those who miss out on the Rudolph Linux Package.
- A one time fee of $ 95 US gets you free setup with no hidden charges and you never pay for hosting again - ever!
- Professional web hosting with 250 GB disk space, 3000 GB bandwidth
- 1 FREE domain for as long as you remain a THC client, included in your package
- Instant blogs and initial optimization - yes, we are talking about a blogger tailored solution!
- Unlimited MySQL databases that will allow you to create as many blogs as you want
- Create as many sub domains as you like on the FREE domain offered by THC
- Bring to Rudolf as many domains as you want.
- Don’t worry about your data: Rudolf has got instant backups plus…
- …unlimited FTP accounts
- …web mail and unlimited email aliases
- …unlimited custom DNS records
- …FREE anti-spam protection
- …instant eCommerce - CubeCart, osCommerce2, phpAdsNew, phpCoin, SugarCRM, OpenAds and ZENCart
- …Web analytics reporting tool
- and much more…
For just one payment of $95 you would be a fool not to take up this offer before they’re all gone!
Of course I have an affiliate account with them now so plugging the service and getting folks to sign up will get me a few bucks in my pocket, as you can too by becoming an affiliate. But everything I say about them in this post is true, and you can see the difference with this site ever since I switched, that is if you have been here before when I was with Hostmonster. The speed itself is very noticeable!
The control Panel is very basic and simple to use. I can see this being updated soon as there are better Control Panels out there that offer more features, but that’s really not a big issue for me because I don’t spend a lot of time in the Control Panel anyway.

Here’s an excerpt from their site,
In addition to all the features mentioned above, the most important benefit is that you get professional web hosting practically free. The one time fee is basically a symbolic fee that buys you professional webhosting for life.
Rudolf is no fairytale. He is THC’s attempt to bring value back to the web hosting principle. There cannot be a hosting company without the users who inhabit the servers. To put it simply: we care!
They do care, they took care of me from the first steps in signing up. Although there was a bit of a hiccup in getting the sites transferred, in the end everything turned out great. There were there to help every step of the way. Plus they did have an issue when they upgraded their MySQL databases for a security update, but from what I was told that was the first time in two years that has ever happened. So to me that’s a pretty good track record IMO.
But seriously here folks. If you want to have a web hosting service that will just cost you $95 for the whole time you own the site, then there really isn’t any reason why you shouldn’t follow my affiliate link to get signed up for the Rudolph account right away. If you don’t have the $95, then sell your dog or cat, rob a bank, stand on the street corner, pan handle, beg, whatever it takes, you must get signed up or there will come a time when you’re renewing your hosting and domain accounts with whoever you’re with now and you’ll think to yourself, “Now why didn’t I listen to MacBros and get in on that deal before they were all sold out?”
So here’s my affiliate link one more time. Sign up for the ‘pay once for web hosting‘ now.
Thanks to those who sign up through my affiliate link also. Every penny counts!
