I initially decided to watch ‘The Condemned‘ not because of the fact that Steve Austin was in it but more because that Vinnie Jones stars in it. Vinnie Jones is more of a bad ass than Steve Austin is in my opinion, so that is what made me make a much easier decision as far as wondering if this movie was going to as bad ass as it was portrayed to be, and knowing that Vinnie Jones is staring it it would prove it right.

The Condemned is a bad ass movie, and the wrestler actually does OK too I suppose, but when you watch the movie, you’ll see that he brings a bit to much of the wrestling into the fight scenes, which ended up making them scenes to be pretty cheap and cheesy.

The action is there, non the less, and you’ll get your full dose of it because it is pretty much action from start to finish.

I’ll be honest though, it turned out to be to much like a Rambo type movie. And pretty much any movie of this genre because the theme and story plot has been done to death. It’s a no brainier that when you go into this movie you already know how it’s going to end right? You’ll be right if you’re thinking what I was when I first started to watch the movie.

An adrenalin-charged action thriller, “The Condemned” tells the story of Jack Conrad, who is awaiting the death penalty in a corrupt Central American prison. He is “purchased” by a wealthy television producer and taken to a desolate island where he must fight to the death against nine other condemned killers from all corners of the world, with freedom going to the sole survivor.

But this review is not going to downplay it completely. It did have it’s moments that got interesting, and who doesn’t like a little violence in their movies right? There’s violence to be had here folks, and lots of it. Basically the moral of the movies story actually.

The movie is basically about some rich guy who exploits the use of the internet and charges people to watch a live online snuff TV show. And the fact that there are so many sickos on the internet, present company not included, that they would make him rich when they shell out $50 to log on and watch the live feed. The movie wasn’t a complete waste of time. If you really let your brains ooze out of your ears and disregard all reality, you will actually enjoy this. As far as shelling out $30 to see it at a theater, no way, the DVD rental will be your best bet to waste some time instead of money.

Its an OK movie to kill some time and be mildly entertained, but as far as it being a thriller, I wouldn’t go as far as calling it that.

I wasted my time with it, and was somewhat entertained, so I think you might be to.
