The More You Know! Escape Goat.

So I’m watching Mike Row’s Dirty Jobs on the Discovery Chanel, and one of the segments was on a Goat farm. The goats they had on the farm were fainting goats, the characteristic is caused by a hereditary genetic disorder called myotonia congenita.
But the fact that they faint is just part of the whole reason of this post.
The real thing that got me was the story that the owner of the farm told. She said that these particular goats were once used for protecting the more expensive goats. No they weren’t used like guard dogs, but in a rather more serious way.
You see, if a predator came into the pen all the goats would get scared and run away, but the fainting goats will just freeze up and keel over. While the other, more expensive goats are getting away, the fainting goats are left behind to be an easy catch for the predator.
Hence the term, “Escape Goat!”
