No God

Latest Atheist Ads

If that title had you raising your eyebrow, then you’ll be amongst thousands once these ads that read, “There’s Probably No God. Now Stop Worrying And Enjoy Your Life.” turn up all over Toronto’s transit buses.

I am curious as to what the local bible bashers are going to do in response to these ads. I’m pretty sure they’ll have something to say, that’s for sure. They always do. Just like the time Alice Cooper was coming to play here for a concert (Awesome concert BTW) the bible bashers claimed that Alice Cooper was a satanic artist and was the Devil. LOL That just wanted me to go to the show even more. :P

Atheist, humanists and agnostics should have the same opportunities to voice their opinions as people of faith, without discrimination, Erasmus said.

There are a lot of misconceptions about what it means to be an atheist, he added.

“For some reason, we’re labeled as devil worshipers and all sorts of nasty stuff,” he said.

Yes they should have the right. Just as other faiths are allowed, they should be treated no differently. But we all know how that will turn out don’t we. If the past dealings with anything like this hasn’t shown just how intolerant we are to such things, we know what will happen. There will be a big protest, people getting angry over the words. And the ads will eventually have to come down.

“So often you see (atheists) portrayed as kind of gloomy and angry. We really wanted to counter that stereotype,” said Kish.

The other goal, said Kish, is opening a dialogue with religious groups.

“I think discussion is really important and that’s what I’m hoping will happen from this campaign.

It’s because we’re all brought up that way. If something is faux pau then we need to kill it. It’s actually sad though. Even though a lot of people would want to agree, they don’t, simply because they’re to worried about standing out and being pinpointed and ridiculed.

After reading this article, I couldn’t help but think and wonder about a question that keeps popping up in the back of my mind. That question is, “Isn’t this how wars begin?”

This is just my opinion on the subject, and you’re entitled to it.

They’re already on busses in London, UK. One Christian driver refused to drive the “Athiest bus”

It’s a bit bloody silly saying they refuse to drive the bus. What makes me laugh is, there’s as little proof of a God as there is of a lack of one!

As if She’d care anyway … ;)

This is very true and why mob mentality scares me so much. People naturally want to feel like they belong and don’t want to be ridiculed so they do go along with things at times just so they won’t be singled out and ridiculed.

@theenglishguy – LOL @ She.

@teeni – People should just grow some and speak up for themselves and not let the other groups look at them in their own ways and judge them.
