If you do a Whois on the domain that is supposedly hiring actors, camera operators, and sound operators, then you’ll find this nice piece of info. (Ive screen captured the page in case they figure out that they didn’t do very well hiding their info during registration.)
Kind of makes you feel like you can walk right up to their open front door doesn’t it. And what’s even more surprising here is that this building is a town house! Not a Studio!
They send me an e-mail for instructions for taking a test for the Sound Operators job position. And it involved watching 5 of their videos followed by a test based on what you saw or heard in the videos.
There is a PDF attachment that looks like it was done up by a 12 year old kid. It has spelling errors and major grammar issues.
This whole things too damn shady for me. I can’t see them actually being able to pay the people they hire based on the salary they’re planning on paying based on DVD sales from their web site.
A comment by Drunken: i think is definitely a scam…. they are looking for 7 production teams (director, camera, editor, sound, etc).. according to the job salary they mention… it would cost around $235,000 to pay the production team yearly… now.. if they have 7 teams.. its a totall of $1,645,000 per year… i don’t think they can make that amount of money just from selling cooking dvds… and that is just to pay employees, they also need their profit.. so probably we’re talking about 3+ millions per year
Based on those figures alone, I would assume that if they did hire you, they would probably pull anchor on them and leave them in the dark with no paycheck in hand.
I’ve applied to the Actors Job and The Sound Operators Job and both require you to watch their DVD’s so this just has SCAM all over it.
Eseegan Multimedia Production + FoodPopuli.com = Scam
This is just my opinion, and you’re entitled to it.
