This Site Will Be Migrating Tomorrow Morning
Wednesday, March 11, 2009 16:26 | 351 viewsToday I received an e-mail letting me know that the site will be going down for about an hour or so. This is a scheduled server migration in hopes to fix the previous downtime problems experienced in the past.
I’ll just copy and past the letter so you can see what I’m talking about;
Dear customer,On March 12, Thursday at 9:30 AM EST, we will migrate all shared hosting accounts running on Web2 server (web2.tophostingcenter.com) to a better, faster and more stable server with 1000 mbps connection speed (10 times faster than what you have actually ). This action will be done as a solution to the series of downtimes we experienced in the past weeks which resulted from resource constraints.
During the migration, websites running from affected accounts will normally experience a downtime of at least an hour depending on your location due to DNS propagation.
Please be informed that due to the destination server’s new settings, some of your sites might fail to work following the downtime. Although this is LESS LIKELY to happen as the new server has similar features and configuration with the previous one, we strongly encourage that you check your sites when they return online and report all technical issues through our ticketing system.
Our technical staff will be ready to help and assist you.
Thank you very much for your understanding.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, and that is that speed means dippity-do-da to me if the webs site’s are down. So hopefully their attempt to resolve the downtime issues will be fixed by the migration from one server to the next.
I really do hope they pull it off, because I have already been impressed with the speeds. I wouldn’t mind writing another review with positive reinforcement again. But I’m not holding my breath, this is the second time I’ve been moved from another server there and the problems seemed to get worse, so here’s to another migration and hopefully it’s the right one this time.
Good Luck Top Hosting Center, I hope it works this time. ![]()
So if you are here tomorrow morning and things aren’t here, that’s because it’s being moved, and if the site isn’t up and running for several hours, it will mean things didn’t go as smoothly as they planned. And if an entire day has gone by, I’ll probably be cussing and swearing like a sailor because something has gone horrible wrong.
Lets just hope things get transfered easily and the site is up and running in no time and we’ll never have to worry about any more downtime.

Uptime and price were my two biggest criteria for a host last time I looked, with uptime far ahead. I agree. Who likes a dark site?

The price is nothing except the initial $95 spent to start it up, but I don’t pay anything for life. Which is great especially for me now since I’m poor and would never be able to afford to pay for it.
Hopefully after tomorrow, uptime won’t be an issue either.
