Just in case you're dog needs to bark to warn you about something, lets say a burglar or fire. My wife bought one for our dog but he was already pretty mild mannered. Coupled with my wife's already great training, he wore it for maybe two shocks and he listened about 100% after that. (remote control collar) We've used a bark color on another dog before...She had a chronic barking thing. Unfortunately though we weren't training THAT one so I can't really comment about it's lasting effectiveness. I’m still on the fence about these.
