Trying to reset my internal clock

Over the past few days I have been trying to reset my internal clock. AND NO! I’m not talking about lady problems either as you all already know, I’m a Guy. I’m just saying that because some funny buddies (You know who you are) like to try and make fun of me.
:smug:

Anyway, I’ve been trying to go to bed earlier and so far that isn’t going very well. I just can’t seem to fall asleep. I don’t want to go to bed very early because I still need to put in time at the current job until I start my new one. So going from working from 10pm until 6am to a shift that starts at 6:30am until 2pm is a big change.

I end up awake until about 4am or 5am still. I think I might have to resort to some sleep aid when the final hour comes.

So then I thought, maybe if I just wake up earlier I’ll be really sleepy when I want to go to bed. So I set my alarm clock to wake me up earlier. Lot of good that did. It was either I ended up sleeping through the thing or I was really groggy and sleepy the entire day but I ended up awake till 4 or 5am anyway still.

It’s probably time for a new alarm clock with a different alarm noise, because it seems that I’m so used to it now I dream about it going off instead of waking up when it goes off. 8-|

I feel for you. I love my sleep. I don’t know anything about sleep aids but I do know that if you put the alarm clock somewhere across the room then you have to get up out of bed to shut it off and are more likely to really wake up when it goes off.

Oh I have it away from the bed. I’m immune to it now I think.

I’m actually surprised your cats don’t wake you - mine seem to get disturbed if I ignore the alarm and will come jump on me.

My cats will keep me from going to sleep instead. When I actually get up and turn off the alarm and lay back down (Days Off) they will jump up and snuggle up at the back of my neck and give me a shoulder massage.
