When Good Cats Attack!
Sunday, February 15, 2009 22:54 | 320 viewsYesterday I wanted to wash my bed comforter but Buddy was fast asleep on it. I went to pick him up without waking him to just move him off of the comforter. Well, he must have been having a wicked dream because when I had him in my hands, he woke up and went completely wild on my arms, and hands.
I don’t know what he was dreaming, but he stayed in that crazy mood all night. I tried to talk calmly to him to try and settel him down, but he continued to growel and hiss at me as if I was some sort of monster. He was completely pissed at me for some reason.
Brain didn’t know what the hell was going on, so he just ended up joining in with Buddy and he thought he would hiss and growel at me now too. I went to pat Brain and he swatted my hand slicing my index finger open. Buddy’s claws are trimmed, but Brains are razor sharp.
I have no idea why Brain started in on the growling and hissing either, as a matter of fact, that’s the first time I’ve ever heard him hiss.
Buddy is still sorta in his pissy mood today. I patted hime a couple of times, but he’ll still hiss at me when I get to close.
Brain is back to his usual self and is OK now, but Buddy still seems to be pissed at me for some reason.
I hope Buddy snaps out of it soon. I don’t like this at all. He’s usually always snuggeling up to me but he’s hiding under the futon all day and hardly eating.
I hope he’s OK.

Wow – that is extreme. If you had startled him then he should have gotten over it and not been cowering for so long. I'm thinking something is wrong and he is sick or hurt. Might be good to take him in for a check up. As for Brain joining in on it, well that is just animal "herd" mentality. Their gut reaction when they hear another cat acting out like that is that there is danger so they are just going to join in on that behavior because they have no power of reasoning to dismiss it as it just being the other cat is hurt or sick. I hope Buddy is okay.

I felt like killing him, but then I would be missing my Buddy. He’s a good cat, just had a bad day.
