Win $10,000 a Year?

More like Win $10,000 worth in prizes a year.
Seems there are a few people out there that have way more time on their hands than most of us. Well, I might have a few hours a day on hand too, so I might jump on this band wagon too.
“Over the last three years,” says Marc Rigby, a 37-year-old director of business development at a Toronto technology company, “I’ve won almost $20,000 worth of prizes.”
So is Rigby the luckiest guy in Canada? Not at all. He’s just better at entering contests than most people, and you could be too.
But what’s his e-mail box look like? Is it exploding with spam? I suppose you could just get yourself a forwarding address like I have with BoxBe.com, and use that for filtering out the spam. Plus you can make some pocket change with them also.
To save time, Rigby says he uses websites such as ContestCanada.com and ContestHound.com, which list contests currently open to Canadians and link you directly to the entry forms. He also turns on the autofill function on his web browser, so that regularly-entered information is filled out automatically.
Wilman, who has self-published a book called You Can’t Win If You Don’t Enter (available at ContestQueen.com) has even enlisted a software program called RoboForm (Roboform.com) that allows her fill out 50 ballots an hour. She wins between 100 and 160 contests per year, or about one contest every three or four days.
Gee whiz, you know. I might seriously try this out before it becomes to popular and the odds against me get higher. I mean if it’s free and all, and I’m under no obligation to buy crap I don’t want. I have a couple of hours a day to try to fill out some forms, but if there’s software out there that speeds this up, well… all the more power to it!
I like winning stuff. Even though I haven’t actually won anything in such a long time. I still remember what it was like back in the days when I did win one or two things in my lifetime. It made me feel good. Besides, if I can win a plasma TV, a trip, car, or anything, there’s always the option of selling the prize if you are in dire need of cash like I am.
Can you actually make a living on signing up for contests? Well …
Though Wilman says that positive thinking, Feng Shui and even her IMLUCKY license plate play a role in her winnings, her statistics confirm Rigby’s assertion that it all comes down to the odds. Both Rigby and Wilman win more than 40 cents per ballot they fill out, which works out to something like $20 in prizes per hour they spend entering contests. In other words, you could make a living just by entering promotional contests – as long as you don’t mind sitting down to an occasional dinner of two pounds of candy.
Apparently so! If a person played their cards right, they could, IMO. Need to pay the rent? Well lets sell off a few prizes. Hmmm. Let me see, OH! How about this trip for 2 to Florida? That’ll be good for 2 months rent.
What the heck! I’m going to try this out! I’ll keep this under the category Contests.

Of course, this is all just my opinion, and you’re entitled to it.
