Wordpress Upgrade 2.3.1

OK, this blog now runs on Wordpress 2.3.1 and there’s a problem.

I cannot receive e-mail notifications on new comments. With that said, I don’t know if the e-mail is being sent to those who subscribe to the e-mail notification on particular posts.

I went through the Wordpress forums  and discovered nothing but posts from people with the same issues. Nothing as far as a fix goes. So it seems there’s an issue, but the makers of the software aren’t paying much attention to the issues of their users.

So what I’m hoping here is that somebody out there that reads this knows what I’m talking about and knows how to get comment notification working again.

Any help please?

OK after reviewing Kirk M’s comment in my previousrequest for help on the Comment notification issues with Wordpress 2.3.1, I tried something after reading the part on his post about creating a mail account called ‘wordpress’. What I did was actually create an e-mail account with my host called ‘wordpress @ mydomain.com

Someone mentioned that on the wp-testers list. I can’t remember if there was a fix in the development trunk or not, as I don’t like email notifications. Have you subscribed to your own comments with your feed reader? That’s a fix until the email annoyancenotifications are fixed.

MacBros – out of curiosity did you get that e-mail I sent about my local test server possibly sending an e-mail to you?

Corey, I like to receive the notifications. That way I can reply to them as soon as I get them. Keep an eye out for the fix if you don’t mind. The subscription idea wont work for Admin.

JS, Yes I got it. But I didn’t get any e-mails from it. Or maybe I did, but they went into the spam folder.

After a heck of a lot of research and installing workarounds for folks I’ve found the fix ( a rather tiny plugin) at WordPress Trac and I’ve zipped up for downloading purposes and I’m writing up a post as I speak so anybody who needs this can download it. This actually might show up eventually as a plugin at WordPress.org but this will do until then.

Give me 15 minutes and I’ll have it up.
