You Can’t Comment You Say?
Sunday, June 28, 2009 1:39 | 125 viewsOr read single posts for that matter?
Well, if you’re familiar with FTP file permissions and Owner/Group settings, you’ll see something a lot different in the above image. Yea, “WTF?” is what I said too.
All this time I was completely unaware that nobody could enter any pages to comment. If somebody followed the link to a certain post, they found themselves looking at an Error 500.
Whatever my host did it caused my .htaccess file to barf up the web pages and cause the permalinks to go FUBAR.
I’ve striped the .htaccess down and just added the basic code from Wordpress and will add the other stuff I want later on.
I don’t know what the fuck my host is doing but their tinkering around all the time is really pissing me off. It seem sthat every other day there is another fucking problem or some other change that they never bother to consult with the users about first.
If you find any thing strange happening on the site, please let me know. I would really appreciate it. That way I can just submit one MASSIVE ticket and have them work at fixing their fuck up instead of creating new ones.
This would also explain why I haven’t seen any hits on single pages lately and why my Google Revenue has stopped over the past few days. (No I’m not going to ask for compensation because I don’t want to waste my time when I already know the outcome of that situation.)
I would apologize, but it is not my fault. If you want to complain, then let THC know.

What’s this now? The 143rd time? LEAVE THEM.
I offered to host you on my service too, for free – so quit complaining about how bad they are when you can easily join my host. GAH!
lol..

@ChrisTheFeral – We talked about that already and it wouldn’t work out.
I guess I give people to much leeway for the benefit of the doubt.
They’ll be really good for a bit and them Kabloweee! Crappy service.
I’m thinking the cloud servers might actually be a good start.
I just think they need to put a leash on the technicians and keep them from fucking around with things that aren’t broken. I think that’s the main problem.
Maybe they break shit on purpose just so they keep their job.

@MacBros I’ve been with them for two and a half years, no problems at all.

@Chris – remember … My site is too big. Plus Host Monster can’t handle it. I left them because of that.

@MacBros so then maybe there is nothing wrong with your host but rather your site? Maybe the plugins or something in wordpress is screwing the site up.

You really should consider deleting the whole site and uploading it back fresh. That will be conclusive.

@MrCorey – What would that accomplish, except waste more of my time?
June 28th, 2009 at 7:07 pm
@macbros – Fresh directories with fresh permissions, of course.

@MrCorey – LOL! You know how much time I wasted resetting all the directories and permission?? No, that’s not such a good idea. LOL
